Developed as an approach to learn more about new approaches to adaptive talent development for the future of work, this paid fellowship aims to increase the participation of marginalized populations in the innovation economy while providing increased wages and employable skills.
VR Fellows
Beverly Aarons is a writer and game developer. She works across disciplines as a copywriter, journalist, novelist, playwright, screenwriter, and short story writer. She’s won several awards and grants for her work including the Guy A. Hanks, Marvin H. Miller Screenwriting Award, Community 4Culture Fellowship, and the Seattle Office of Arts & Culture smART Ventures grant.
David is an architect and urban designer whose work in the private sector provided clear insight of the social disparities across the City. He has since transitioned to the non-profit world and acts as the Food Innovation District Strategist for the Rainier Beach Action Coalition, a neighborhood-based organization, which he co-founded in 2012.
Since 2015, he has worked with the City of Seattle’s Office of Economic Development as their Startup Advocate. In 2016, his participation in Harvard Business School’s Young American Leaders Program, as well as the White House Summit on Building the Tech Workforce of Tomorrow, inspired his participation in other projects on cross-sector collaboration and the future of work.
Eduardo Rojas is a User Experience (UX) designer and Virtual Reality (VR) developer. He is passionate about creating value-centered solutions to promote health, wellbeing, and productivity. Eduardo is currently an administrator for Rojas Plastering LLC, and a fellow at the Future Founders VR Fellowship. After the fellowship, Eduardo seeks to work as a UX and VR Designer and explore the ethics of immersive technologies.
Hafsa is a freshmen at Seattle Central College who is working to get her AAs in computer science. She enjoys the creative freedom of the computer science field and began exploring this journey in her Junior year of high school. Currently she is a Future Founder VR fellow learning to develop software for Virtual Reality. Hafsa hopes to use technology to help her community and people.
Jakari Brown is a self-taught web developer and current Future Founder VR fellow. He began teaching himself web development in the beginning of 2018 and in less than a year he has developed 9 websites. Jakari is passionate about technology because it allows him to be creative and produce concrete results. He is hoping to find a software development job with opportunities for growth.
Kevin Kaymak born in ’94 and is working together with several gaming companies all around the globe. He is working in different programming languages such as visual basic and c#. He has developed several games over the years such as 2D/3D MMORPG’s and several Simulation Games. He is currently teaching network development on his youtube channel.
Julie Le is a curious individual who is in the midst of figuring out her passions and career interests. She received her Associates in Arts and Sciences from Tacoma Community College and has recently received her certification in Database Analytics from Bellevue College. She is currently a part of the Future Founder VR Fellowship working on developing an educational game in virtual reality.
